1. Harbour Towage Assistance
Tug assistance to vessels entering, leaving or shifting in the ports of Malta including Grand Harbour, Marsamxett Harbour or Marsaxlokk Harbour is provided in accordance with the Towage (Tariff of Rates) Regulations 2007 – LN 208 of 2007.

2. Other Towage and Salvage Services
i) All other tug services in any other area, including Conveyance of Personnel and Stores, tows outside harbours and/or from one harbour to another will be provided by the Company at rates to be determined.

ii) The Schedule of Tariff Rates and other charges shall not apply to services offered to any vessel in circumstances which are outside the scope of the normal towage services.

This includes salvage or extraordinary services rendered to the Shipowner’s vessels by the tugs of the towage company (whether a Lloyds’ Open Form is signed or otherwise, or whether or not the SCOPIC Clause is invoked), and also when a Towage Contract is signed between the parties for a specific service or operation.

3. Contract Rebate Rates
i) Rebate rates in the form of a percentage rebate on the rates applicable in accordance with the Schedule of Tariff of Rates and related monetary conditions shall be granted to Shipowners whose vessels regularly call at Malta and regularly utilise the towage services provided under this Tariff of Towage Rates.

ii) In this context, vessels shall be considered as regularly calling at Malta if the vessels of the same Shipowner call at Malta on at least twenty-four occasions during a twelve calendar month period.

iii) The rebate given shall be dependent on the utilisation of tugs in accordance with established suggested guidelines for tug usage, as may be altered from time to time.

iv) Forms of the Towage Rebate Contract may be obtained from the towage company on request.

4. Payment Terms
i) Payment for all services is due immediately upon their completion. All payments shall be made promptly at the towage company’s registered office and the tug user and/or the ordering agent shall make arrangements satisfactory to the towage company to secure all payments before the vessel leaves Malta.

ii) Credit up to 45 days from the date of the relative invoice may be granted to approved customers on request.   Where credit has been granted, the ordering agent or others acting on behalf of the tug user, will be required to provide details of the vessel’s Principal at the time of ordering services.

iii) Invoices outstanding after 45 days from the date of the relative invoice may be subject to an interest charge thereon calculated from the date of the invoice and in accordance with the commercial interest rate applicable in Malta at the time. If payment terms are not adhered to, the tug company reserves the right to withdraw credit facilities.

iv) All charges are exclusive of VAT, if and as applicable.

C. All requests for service should invariably be confirmed later by completing the Company’s Demand for Tug Services Forms which are supplied on request.

D. By ordering tugs or other services the ordering agent is deemed to acknowledge that the vessel’s owners, operators, masters, and agents have been informed of and have accepted the Company’s terms and conditions.
